About Me

Hey, I’m Michael Thuita—a techpreneur and product strategist driven by a passion for building products that make a difference.

I’ve always been drawn to tech—not just the code or the gadgets, but the potential to turn ideas into something real, something that matters. Growing up, I was the kid who took things apart just to see how they worked, always curious about the “why” behind everything. That curiosity eventually led me to study Computer Science and, later, dive headfirst into the world of startups, where I learned that building something impactful is way harder than it looks from the outside.

What I Do

Turning ideas into impactful products is the core of my work. It’s about taking raw concepts—solutions to real problems—and transforming them into something that functions seamlessly in the real world. This means creating structure out of the initial chaos, balancing vision with practical steps, and ensuring every detail aligns with the larger purpose. The goal? To build products that are not only useful but resilient and sustainable.

It’s also about bringing people together. Building a product is, at its heart, a team effort. Rallying a group around a shared vision, fostering ownership, and aligning each person’s strengths creates momentum and a sense of purpose. That’s where the magic happens—where ideas don’t just exist on paper but become something extraordinary in the hands of a dedicated team.

Why I Do What I Do

I believe in the power of technology to change lives, especially in places where opportunities aren’t always easy to come by. Working in tech across Africa, I’ve seen how access to the right tools can empower people in ways that weren’t possible even a few years ago. For me, it’s about creating something useful, something people can actually rely on—not just “innovating” for the sake of it.

Building products isn’t just about the “what,” but the “how.” If things aren’t set up right from the start—systems, strategy, the right people—it doesn’t matter how great the idea is. There’s a deep satisfaction in knowing that something I helped build is out there making someone’s life just a little bit easier or more accessible.

What Keeps Me Going

This journey hasn’t been smooth. Startups are chaotic, unpredictable, and often unforgiving. There have been pivots, setbacks, and dead ends. But every failure has taught me something valuable, and every success is a reminder of why I started down this path in the first place. There’s nothing quite like the rush of taking an idea from nothing and turning it into something tangible—something that works, that people use, that actually makes a difference.

Here’s what I’ve come to believe along the way:

  1. Ideas Are Just the Start: Everyone has ideas, it’s the execution that separates the dreamers from the builders. The best products don’t come from grand visions alone, but from carefully crafted strategies, the right systems, and a lot of trial and error.

  2. Adaptability is Key: The tech world changes fast, and being stuck in one way of doing things is a sure way to get left behind. I’ve had to scrap ideas, reimagine strategies, and adapt on the fly. Flexibility isn’t just a skill in this field—it’s a necessity.

  3. People Drive the Product: The best products come from teams that share a common purpose. When you’re working alongside people who believe in the mission, it shows in the final product. Creating a space where people feel inspired and valued has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.

Connect with Me

I’m excited about the future—not just for the products I’m building but for what’s possible when tech and purpose align. There are so many opportunities ahead in areas like blockchain, digital finance, AI and climate tech, especially here in Africa, where the need for accessible, impactful tech is massive. I’m here to push the boundaries, keep learning, and find new ways to make a difference.
